Group Session
How a group session works
Each group session is designed to create a safe, supportive, and empowering space where cancer patients and survivors can reconnect with their bodies, process emotions, and cultivate resilience.
1. Grounding, Nervous System Regulation & Intention Setting
We begin with a short mindful check-in, inviting you to connect with your breath, body, and present emotions. This helps activate nervous system regulation, creating a sense of safety and stability before we move into physical practices. Gentle breathing exercises help signal to your body that it is safe to relax, setting the tone for the session with self-compassion and awareness.
2. Gentle Movement, Body Shaking & Somatic Exercises
Through a blend of breathwork, mindful movement, and somatic techniques, we help release built-up emotional and physical tension. A key part of the session is body shaking, an effective practice to shake out stress, anxiety, and stored trauma, activating the body’s natural ability to reset and restore balance. These movements help regulate the nervous system, fostering a state of calm, clarity, and connection.
3. Deep Nervous System Regulation & Emotional Release
As we move through the session, we engage in shaking, stretching, grounding exercises, and nervous system regulation techniques that allow the body to release stored stress and trauma safely. This is done in a way that honors each participant’s pace and comfort level, promoting a sense of empowerment and control over your body’s responses.
4. Guided Meditation & Reflection
To close the session, we transition into a soothing mindfulness practice to integrate the work, promote relaxation, and deepen self-compassion. These practices support continued nervous system regulation, helping you sustain emotional balance beyond the session. A moment of group reflection allows for sharing (if desired), reinforcing the sense of community and mutual support.
5. Take-Home Practices
Between sessions, you’ll receive simple yet powerful exercises to continue the work on your own—helping you maintain emotional balance, strengthen resilience, and cultivate a deeper mind-body connection. These practices support your nervous system’s ability to self-regulate, allowing for ongoing healing and well-being.
